Rodica,
Felicia, Tom, Volodya, Yann and I finally arrived at Eureka at 2:30am
this morning. Our trip was perhaps a little smoother than previous
years, in that we arrived on the scheduled day, but we did spend about
6 hours at Cambridge Bay waiting for a new plane after our first one
decided to stop working. We're all glad to be here!
Up in Eureka, the temperatures climbed above that nasty -50 C, reaching
about -36 - positively balmy! The planned game of "sublimation
baseball" was postponed due to high temperatures. Stacy managed
to complete the packing of the DA8, and is scheduled to fly out with
the instrument this morning (Friday). Cristen, Matt and Pierre removed
the PEARL-GBS from the hatch and installed SAOZ, which is working
happily.
It's great to be back up here in Eureka, and we're looking forward to getting up to the lab and set up before the sun comes up!
