It was
really windy up at PEARL today, with winds constantly over 25 knots and
gusting over 30. You could see clouds of snow blowing right over the
top of the lab - but at least here you could see the sky! At the
station, everything was white. While there was no wind down there, the
winds up on the hills were blowing plenty of snow into the air,
blocking out all visibility and restricting the movement of the UNCLOS
people who are definitely ready to head out to their ice camp.
Work-wise, there were no FTS measurements today because of the wind.
The PEARL-GBS needed a warm-up and restart as it got a little cold in
the penthouse for it - but then ticked along quite happily once the
temperature increased. The other UV-Vis instruments were also quite
happy. I am still trying to de-virus the last of the confirmed infected
computers up here, but have been making some good progress in that
regard, with help from Cristen who has been battling her own laptop
back in Toronto.
