The wind
continued to blow at PEARL today, though it gradually eased through the
day and was low enough (and the sky was clear enough) for a few
not-so-wonderful FTS measurements in the afternoon. I have updated the
Bruker macro to do two-scan measurements instead of four-scan ones,
and, utilizing the time saving, do two sets through all the filters
instead of one. By allowing us to gather twice as many measurements for
the same operator time commitment, this will let us better time-resolve
interesting features like the smoke plumes we have measured over the
last couple of summers.
The UV-VIS instruments also operated well today. Cristen's fixes to the
PEARL-GBS seem robust - it has operated well since she left, there are
no signs of the virus and we are now back on the network and uploading
data.
St Patrick's day was surprisingly quiet at the station. Matt and I took
advantage of the calm evening to hike a wee way up Station Creek, and
other than a few games of pool and table tennis, just about everyone
was tucked up in bed by 11!
