March 18 2009

Perfectly clear skies and LOTS of measurements are a good summary of today. At PEARL the wind had dropped to just 15 knots in the morning, falling below 10 knots in the afternoon. The weather station is again jam-packed, with a couple of south-bound plane-loads getting stranded in Eureka last night due to bad weather in Resolute. The UNCLOS camp out at Ward Hunt is apparently coming together well, and we're starting to see people being sent through Eureka on the way out there now.
