Just a
short note for today, as things went relatively smoothly here at PEARL.
The weather was fantastic - the best we've had, with the annoying haze
staying clear of the sun for most of the day. Rodica and Felicia
accumulated tons of FTS measurements - 51 Bruker measurements may be a
new record for a spring campaign! The PEARL-GBS stayed operational too,
and Cristen was able to turn her attention to lamp calibration tests
for it. She is trying to not to get her hopes up that it will keep
running, but we all have our fingers crossed! With the sky clear
and the sun staying up much longer now, Bernard and Emily woke up in
time to see the sun and, after exclamations of "what is that burning
ball in the sky?", were able to get out for a walk to the next ridge.
The sonde launch was again picture perfect, with the Raven balloon reaching
8.3 hPa (31 km).
