The day started off eventful with the road to lab blocked by drifted snow
just beyond the driveway. But Oleg and Paul (with some help/picture
taking from Rodica) were up to the challenge and cleared the way for the
truck while Cristen and I walked up to get to work. There were quite a
few clouds in our way but we at least managed to see the sun for some of
the day today!
Cristen got the PEARL-GBS set up in the lab and was working on tests,
software updates and repairs. She also had the UT-GBS taking measurements
half the day while trouble-shooting a low signal issue later in the day.
Tom and Volodya made progress on Brewer 192 today and it will be installed
outside tomorrow morning. The sighting of the SPS and Maestro went very
smoothly with no major adjustments required for the sightings. For the
Brewers tonight, they have scheduled moon observations. In the FTS lab,
Rodica managed to make some measurements through the clouds but there was
just not enough signal for PARIS-IR measurements. I instead set up the
pick-off mirror optics for the beam sharing between the Bruker and
PARIS-IR.
Down at 0PAL, Zen worked on monitoring software code for the E-AERI and
Emily continued the installation of the new depolarization channel for the
Dalhousie RMR Lidar. They had an exciting sighting this afternoon... a
wolf was wandering down around the station!
Maybe we'll get to see some more wildlife as the days go by!
Off to watch the hockey game now... GO CANADA GO!!
