We awoke this morning to some pretty dreary looking clouds. But after the
drive up to PEARL, we were in the clear (for the most part). Rodica and I
managed to measure for most of the day but it was through thick haze.
Rodica measured 19 spectra with the Bruker and I measured 30 spectra with
PARIS-IR. I was also working on software improvements which will be tested
tomorrow. Volodya also had some software success today by completing the
scripts for SPS and MAESTRO. Cristen upgraded the data acquisition
software for the PEARL-GBS and the UT-GBS continued to take measurements.
Down at 0PAL, Zen prepared the E-AERI for MR removal and further tests to
its dewar and stirling cooler cold tip, while Emily and Graeme (remotely
from Halifax) worked to test the polarotor's electronics for the new lidar
depolarization channel of the CRL. All the trigger cables for the lasers
were also re-wired and tested. Regular measurements will continue
overnight tonight.
This evening, Emily, Cristen and I competed in the All Canadian Trivia
Game Board: Millenium Edition. Emily learned a lot about the CFL and
Cristen learned of the existence of the Villeneuve family. The night
ended with Keith and Zen joining us for a game of darts.
