Almost done...

After 3 and a half weeks, we've reached our last day here at Eureka. It was definitely a busy one! The ATR flight that was supposed to arrive at 4AM this morning didn't make it in until 7:30pm due to mechanical problems. After a bunch of us helped unload the packed plane (6000 pounds of cargo!), we ended up with a filled station.

During the day at PEARL, Cristen continued work on the PEARL-GBS, Felicia took 54 MIR measurements with PARIS, and Rodica took 51 MIR and 30 NIR measurements with the Bruker, focusing on NIR tests using the red filter. The instruments will be handed over to the operators for the remainder of the campaign. Down at 0PAL, Emily and Zen had to wait on the ATR flight to arrive before installing the new hatch motor - it should be completed tomorrow morning. Emily continued work on the new depolarization channel, confirming that the chopper is functioning correctly. Zen prepared the E-AERI for re-installation of the MR, Agilent, and Stirling cooler once they arrive.

Due to the late arrival of the ATR flight, we won't be leaving Eureka until ~2pm tomorrow, giving us a chance to finish some last-minute work. Once tonight's plane landed, we welcomed Ashley back to Eureka and are getting ready to say goodbye to Cristen, who is going to stay at Eureka for another month. Oleg will also be traveling back to Toronto with us!

As we prepare to leave Eureka, we would all like to thank everyone working on the campaign and the station staff who have done an incredible job supporting another Canadian Arctic ACE campaign. Between the incredible meals, daily ozonesonde launches, and answering our many questions about almost everything, we couldn't have had such a successful campaign without you!

As this was my first stay in Eureka, I can now see why everyone looks forward to the spring campaign so much. I simply could not get enough of this place! But now it's time to go downstairs, greet the new faces, and - sadly - start to say goodbye. Thanks for following along with the intensive phase of the Canadian Arctic ACE Validation campaign!
