Clouds arrive just late enough

Another busy day at Eureka as our time here, unfortunately, nears an end. The day was, yet again, beautifully clear and sunny. Clouds rolled in just when the sun started setting, holding off just long enough for the PEARL team to finish taking measurements in the afternoon. The temperature hasn't changed much either; today was still close to the this year's low, hovering around -43.

At PEARL, Rodica took 71 MIR and 25 NIR measurements with the Bruker, Felicia took 55 measurements with PARIS, and Cristen continued tests on the PEARL-GBS while also running the UT-GBS. Both instruments are currently operating in Zenith-sky ozone/NO2 mode. At 0PAL, Zen worked on the hatch mechanism for the E-AERI to maintain and prevent it from getting stuck. Emily worked late into the night on the CANDAC RMR LIDAR; she finished installing and testing the temperature module sensor and began running optimization tests on the new depolarization channel with Graeme (off-site).

After watching The Dark Knight tonight (which was fantastic), most of us are returning to our laptops to catch up on our work. Hopefully it warms up a bit soon so we can get another match of hockey or Frisbee golf in before we leave!
