Snow day

The Eureka Weather Station and the Ridge Lab experienced warm temperatures today (-24°C and -15°C, respectively), but conditions were snowy. Visibility was limited. Unfortunately, the weather prevented the team from going to the Ridge Lab.

Due to weather, no measurements could be taken with the Bruker or PARIS today.

SAOZ, UT-GBS, and PEARL-GBS continued to operate nominally.

Chris ran 0PAL's lidar until 16:24 UTC, at which point the snow became too thick and was covering the hatch window. While the lidar was shut down for bad weather, Emily ran white light calibration test and processed data from previous days. The lidar was turned back on for measurements at 23:48 UTC, and has been running well since.

Today's ACE ozonesonde flight occurred at 18:15 (local time) and reached an altitude of 29,527 m (9.6 hPa). The team enjoyed pie after dinner, in celebration of Pi Day (March 14, or 03-14).

The team is hoping for clear weather tomorrow. Since there was snow accumulation throughout the day and evening, we will have to wait for the Eureka Weather Station personnel to clear the road to the lab in the morning.
