The team left the Eureka Weather Station this morning and could barely see light from the rising sun. Windy conditions were kicking up snow and ice into the air. Thankfully, the PEARL Ridge Lab remained above this weather. Previous years' campaigns have had trouble with snow drifts on the road under similarly windy conditions. Since there is very little snow on the ground this year, the road has thankfully remained clear.
Temperatures in Eureka increased slightly to -39°C today. Temperatures at the PEARL Ridge Lab stayed near -27°C.
In the PEARL Ridge Lab's IR lab, Dan took 108 MIR measurements with the Bruker. Sebastien took 39 measurements with PARIS. Dan also worked on campaign website content and Bruker macros.
Xiaoyi is pleased that UT-GBS, PEARL-GBS, and SAOZ continue to operate nominally.
Paul cleared frost off the SPS window this morning. Otherwise, SPS is operating well.
Today's ozonesonde flight occurred at 6:15 pm (local time) and reached an altitude of 13,478 m (126.7 hPa).
The Intensive Phase team has one week left at PEARL. It has been a great campaign so far, and we look forward to a productive final seven days of work. Each day brings more sunlight than the last.
