We had cloudy weather again today. Temperatures in Eureka were around -36°C. At the PEARL Ridge Lab, temperatures were around -28°C. There was a windchill of -43°C due to ~35 km/h winds.
In the PEARL Ridge Lab's IR lab, Dan acquired one MIR measurement with the Bruker. The heavily scattered sunlight made the signal too weak for active solar tracking or solar FTIR measurements using the Bruker or PARIS. Dan also continued to troubleshoot the calibration source problem with help from Paul and a Bruker engineer (through email).
Xiaoyi worked on revising the manuals describing the daily checks needed for the GBSs and SAOZ. PEARL-GBS, UT-GBS, and SAOZ continue to operate nominally.
Paul cleared frost from the window of SPS, which continues to operate well. He also shut down the liquid nitrogen generator, which has produced another half of a dewar. The generator is able to produce liquid nitrogen at about half of its normal rate. We should have enough stored in dewars outside for the rest of the campaign.
Today's ACE ozonesonde flight occurred at 6:15 pm (local time) and reached an altitude of 25,864 m (15.3 hPa).
After dinner, the team relaxed by watching a movie.
