March 19th the team worked from the Weather Station, so Kevin and Darby finished activating the new network webcams at 0PAL and they are ready to be installed. March 20 was a particularly beautiful day with a temperature of –33.3°C, although it was –46°C with the windchill, despite low winds. The team was again able to travel to the Ridge Lab, where Petra, Kevin, and Darby went to the rooftop, after Pierre checked that conditions were safe. They checked on the “Robodome”, the motorized cover that protects the 125HR solar tracker from inclement weather, and the GBS domes to make sure they were not covered with frost, as frost could prevent sunlight from entering the instrument’s telescope properly. After finishing up inside, Petra, Kevin, and Darby took a walk along the ridge and took some photos of their excursion. On March 21, Petra and Kevin together removed non-functioning cameras from the Ridge Lab roof and mapped out where new cameras would be installed.
On each of these days at the Ridge Lab, Petra recorded mid-infrared and near-infrared spectra with the FTIR, and updated the automated system for emailing daily log reports.
The Pandora operated nominally.
Cheers,
